Bijagua peacefully lies in a narrow valley between the Tenorio and Miravalles volcanoes, on Route #6 between Cañas and Upala. Anywhere in and around the village, the views are beautiful, very green with lots of forest. This village was founded in 1953 and traditionally lives of small farming, mostly cattle and some seasonal crops. Now, tourism growth is helping the local economy. You will always be well received in Bijagua, your base and gateway to visit Volcan Tenorio National Park and Rio Celeste. Bijagua has a bank and Cash machine, a pharmacy, schools, police station, supermarkets and other stores, a clinic.
Nice taking a tour on horseback or mountain bike, passing the school and taking vicinal ways around typical, scenic rural Costa Rica.
